I didn’t have much time to draw in the last week and a half, but i managed to find some free time today, so have this quick seasonal bagginshield thing.
…i can’t believe i haven’t drawn bagginshield since April….
bagginshield → i am glad to have shared in your perils, thorin, each and every one of them.

The Middle-Earth aesthetic |
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey..you are very welcome to stay here, if that is your wish..
Thorin surges forward and begins inspecting the gates but he knows they will not open. They are not designed to. A roar of irritation leaves his throat at this and he presses himself against the gate, pushing. Perhaps this should not be but he must see it – he must see him. He is there and Thorin must touch him once more. He must see bright eyes and he must hear a chiming laugh.
I was commissioned by the talented @vtforpedro to illustrate her fanfic, “it’s been a long day without you, my friend”!
Summary:
In which Thorin lives his life, wishes for more, and learns that wishes sometimes come true.
A fair warning: this one will break your heart. (But give me a minute, because that’s not the end-all of it.) It will break it with a grand blow and small, slow increments of pain, delivered through excellent characterization, achingly poignant description and top-notch dialogue.
And those very same tools will tinker your heart right back together. Eventually. I’m not going to lie: by the end of the story I was grinning like something that should be locked up for their own good, and went on doing so for a long while after.
This is the story equivalent of really good chocolate: just the right blend of bitter and sweet. Enjoy!
